About Us


The Montana Neuroscience Institute (MNI) was originally founded in 1998 as a collaboration between St. Patrick Hospital and Health Sciences Center and The University of Montana, with offices and program staff located on the Second Floor of the Providence Center Building at 900 N. Orange, Suite 205 in Missoula, Montana. The MNI is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization with the mission of conducting basic, translational and clinical neuroscience research, as well as providing education to students, medical providers, and the public. Brain injury is a primary focus, with the Institute also serving as the organizing site for the statewide consortium, the Montana Brain Injury Center. Research is also being conducted in other neurological areas including stroke, chronic pain, M.S., brain tumor, ALS, sleep, memory, epilepsy, spinal problems, Parkinson’s disease, and neurological devices.
